Until you’ve created a style that will appeal to a plus sized consumer, then you’ve done nothing. NO, you can’t just take the same outfit for a skinny girl and think making it two sizes wider will help. HELLO!? Length matters too! Some of us ladies are smaller in the boob area but need more love in the hip/butt area. Some of us have small butts and big breasts. Some of us, particularly the ones companies like to model as being the “ideal” plus-sized girl, are amazingly proportionate; with hips and breasts that give a balanced look. Those women are beautiful, but uncommon.
Not all big women are proportionate! Shit, MOST of us aren’t. So don’t turn your nose up at a stylishly dressed big girl. That lady had to put in work to find that outfit that diminishes “front butt,” holds the breasts up, flattens the thigh and tummy area, and fits nicely from hip to ankle. That takes DEDICATION.
Buying threads from goodwill and tossing them on a skinny chick seems pretty effortless to me. I mean, do your thing! You are skilled in YOUR work. But….try styling plus sized models of all proportions.
Challenge.
